Locations - Around Radcliffe Camera

"Though before I was ten I knew all the stately buildings that clustered round the Radcliffe Library like my own pocket, as the French say, it was only in comparatively recent times that I even set eyes on Paradise Square or looked upon the Blue Pig in Gloucester Green."

[left] All Souls College, photographed from the tower of St Mary the Virgin church. (Radcliffe Camera is just off the edge of the photo, to the left.)

[right] Lincoln College is in the centre of the photo, with Exeter College beyond it to the right. Part of Brasenose College can be see in the foreground, bottom left, and part of the Radcliffe Camera to the right.

[left] The church of St Mary the Virgin is in the background and part of the Radcliffe Camera to the left.

[right] Hertford College is adjacent to All Souls College. Here, on of the Hertford buildings can be seen in the centre, with the steps to the Radcliffe Camera to the right.

[left] The Bridge of Sighs, modelled on the Venetian original, would not have existed in Kenneth Grahame's schooldays but he would have seen it at some stage during his visits to Oxford in later years. It spans New College Lane to link the Hertford College buildings on either side. The Radcliffe Camera is about 50 yards away, behind the photographer and to the right.
